
93. Male stag beetle (Lucanus cervus) - in North Hill, Woodbridge, 20 June 2008. Covered in dust and with a damaged front left leg, It was a good 2″(50mm) long, and was still alive.

As can be seen in the photo, he (?) was on a sandy track. I am told that this
"long-winged" type may be more scarce than the "short-winged" type.
